From March 19 to April 2, the XXIII Chess Championship of the Sergiev Posad City District (SPGO) was held among veterans (participants aged 60 and older).The history of this competition dates back to 1999, the initiator of which was N.V.Pluzhnikov, this tournament has been held annually since then, with the exception of 2020 due to the pandemic, the championship was not completed.This year, like last year, 10 chess players took part, unfortunately, due to the pandemic, not all chess players were able to take part.The tournament was held in a round robin system in 9 rounds with a time control of 25 min + 10 sec./move per game.Two chess players came to the finish line with 7.5 points: Fomin V.M.and last year's winner of this tournament Tarmosin M.A.Fomin V.M. became the champion of the district among veterans, having the best additional indicators (Berger coefficient), the struggle for third place was also stubborn, at the finish line 2 participants Glukhov S.V. and Tatarinov V.M. had 6 points each, the best additional indicators brought Glukhov S.V., who took part in such a tournament for the first time, to the 3rd place.Three winners of the tournament were awarded cups, medals and certificates, which were provided by the SPGO Chess Federation, Chairman V. G.
